Ugly, but has great personality

I know, I know, the girls aren't much to look at. They are petite, have great arms (hey, wait a minute, I wanna be them!) and are very sturdy and well made. Trust me, the lady at the resale shop must have thought that I had too many cups of coffee the way I was "test driving" them...stand up, sit down, stand up again, sit down REALLY hard, take off the cushion, bang on the coils, lift up the skirt, turn it over...etc. I put on quite a show, I must say.
Guess how much I paid...just take a stab...$35 a piece! Yeah, I know!

I know that the fabric is less than, um, perfect (that's putting it mildly), but wouldn't it look amazing covered in this
or thisEven though I think I will end up reupholstering it a lot like this

(photo by cococozy.com ~ amazing blog & LOVE the contrasting piping!)
with this nestled against the back.
I say that because #1: I am totally chicken when it comes to upholstery. I am a neutral girl. It speaks volumes about my life, but we won't go there. #2: I don't know where to put them. I had the brilliant idea to nestle them in my living room in front of my huge windows, but they dwarfed my couch. Seriously, it was like looking at pair of Ryan Seacrests next to Wilt Chamberlain. Sad sad sad.
Sooooo, I have a feeling that they will end up with a neutral burlapish (meaning looks like, but is more hard-wearing) upholstery. If I am feeling really crazy I might pipe it in a chocolate brown or black. I know, I am simply out of control. What can I say, it was the $35 chairs that sent me over the edge.

4 brilliant things my peeps said about this:

Oh my goodness! I bought those same chairs a few years back, at least they look exactly the same! Do they swivel like a rocker, or are they stationary? I gave mine to my mom because I bought a thrift store club chair too and didn't have room for them all! I can't wait to see what you cover them with! I like what you have described, and think they will be so pretty! :) Please make sure to show us when you are done! :)

I hope you are doing well, and having a great winter so far! :)

Thanks Jenni! I will let you know how they turn out. No, they don't do anything but just sit there and beg to be recovered...no rocking or swiveling going on here.
Thanks for the thumbs upon the blog design. The banner pic is my daughter.
I have a new blog too. Go look on my profile and you will see it. Might not be anything you are interested in, but I just thought I would throw it out there.
Have a great day!
